HERE WE GO!!!
The 2022 WRBHA Provincial Championships kick off tonight at the Edmonton South Soccer Centre.
Friday night's lineup features 19 games with all 35 teams in action. Three teams, all out of the the Men's Tier 2 Division (Killer Bees, Full Metal Jacket, Bar South) are pulling double duty as they hit both the nights opening games at 5 pm, as well as the final games at 10 pm. Tier 2, due to having an odd number of teams, is the only division playing out a 4-game round robin instead of the usual 3 game format.
Here is a look at each divisions round robin and playoff format:
WOMEN'S B POOL
- 4 teams (CGY Vipers, CGY Tune Squad, EDM Havoc, EDM Asylum White)
- 3-game round robin
- top-3 qualify for playoffs (2 vs 3 SF)
WOMEN'S C POOL
- 6 teams (CGY Elite Pumas, EDM Asylum Red, EDM Boom, EDM Stillettos, EDM Storm, GP Hunnies)
- 3-game round robin
- top-4 qualify for playoffs (1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 SF)
MEN'S TIER 1
- 4 teams (CGY Generals, CGY Phantoms, EDM Nighthawks, EDM Savages)
- 3-game round robin
- top-3 qualify for playoffs (2 vs 3 SF)
MEN'S TIER 2
- 5 teams (CGY Full Metal Jacket, EDM Bar South, EDM Cobras, EDM Killer Bees, EDM Walruses)
- 4-game round robin
- top-3 qualify for playoffs (2 vs 3 SF)
MEN'S TIER 3
- 8 teams - 2 pools of 4
- POOL A (CGY Blazers, EDM Beverly Bullies, EDM Knowlton Gnashers, MH Rebels)
- POOL B (EDM Edge, EDM 7C's, GP Cobras, SP Ball Hogz)
- 3-game round robin
- top-2 in each pool qualify for playoffs (1A vs 2B, 1B vs 2A SF)
MEN'S TIER 4
- 8 teams - 2 pools of 4
- POOL A (CGY Mammoths, EDM Drunken Monkeys, EDM Rush, FM Vullets)
- POOL B (CGY Rink Rats, EDM Reapers, EDM Silver Kings, EDM Wolfpack)
- 3-game round robin
- top-2 in each pool qualify for playoffs (1A vs 2B, 1B vs 2A SF)
