TIER 1 CUP NAMED AFTER STEVE POSAVEC
Anyone who truly knows this game in Alberta either knows Steve Posavec or knows of him. Steve is the keeper of our history and a valued lifetime member of the WRBHA. He is considered one of the builders of this great sport both provincially and nationally. He served as WRBHA President and was a key leader in the growth and development of both BHE and EMBH. He was a past CBHA President who helped form the ISBHF, he lobbied for the development of the B and C Regionals and the Women's Nationals. Steve was inducted into the CBHA Hall of Fame in 2012 and received the prestigious ISBHF Robert Mueller Memorial Award in 2016. In an interview, Steve was was quoted saying, "I have many friends in this sport, and I am truly grateful to be involved in ball hockey. I see nothing but positive things for ball hockey...Let's all continue to spread the word that ball hockey is the greatest sport to play, and that all Canadians, no matter what their skill levels are, can enjoy our great game!"
